FULL MOON IN CANCER - DECEMBER 2023

The last Full Moon of 2023 flows into ripeness just after Christmas brimming with Cancer energy on 27th December.

Beautiful emotional Cancer ruled by the Moon fully illuminated in her home sign full of nurture, particularly of the home and loved ones, which can also cause deep ripples of emotional chaos, as always it is better to flow with then fight the tides.

I know her energy well for my Ascendant is in Cancer and I am at times highly sensitive to my environment and to the energy of others, if I did not have my Sun in Leo and my Moon in Capricorn I would be easily introverted, though as I have become older I have began to feel more into this sensitive internal landscape and am realising there is so much potential, healing and learning in this softening as well as many challenges at times in the letting go. Learning to respond rather then react has been a lifelong lesson for me, as my good friend and astrologer Carla, says its about "learning to ride the waves". Water has been a huge theme and a turbulent teacher for me for the last few years......and I have much respect for it.

Cancer the Crab, also has an external shell that protects the soft interior and is able to sidestep obstacles and move around things, which can be powerful indeed, as long as this does not lead to complete withdrawal into hiding and total avoidance.

The beautiful Rose is the floral symbol of Cancer - elegant, highly sensitive, sensuous and evocative of a myriad of emotions and to me is also the embodiment of the High Priestess, the sovereign Mage within us all. She has learnt to weld her power with strength and also softness, honing her skills and guiding others to do so with grace and strength.
