MEDOUSA - THE LESSONS OF THE SERPENT YEAR PASSING

Here we are poised upon the tail end of the Year of the Serpent and what an incredible year it has been; and as hard as it's been for many of us, it has been also been completely life changing. Whilst we still have a month of this energy before Fire Horse kicks in, I can already feel the shifts and the flames of transitions flowing especially now as we flow with the waning crescent moon into Dark.
And the message is:
Let Go!
Let Go...! It's loud and clear if you choose to hear it and soul honouring if you choose to embrace it. Today I took myself to the ocean to walk the tideline, allowing the cool water and fresh salty air to recharge me as I honoured fears already shed and acknowledged those still in play with deepening awareness of the need to face them too.
The January waning crescent Moon leads us towards the last Dark Moon of this Serpent Year; as the Feb dark moon brings us into the Year of the Fire Horse, who rises from serpents ashes. We are at the snakes tail now, the final shedding is in play for this huge year of uncoiling transitions.
Envenomation: What/who are you still desperately hanging on to? Even if it makes you betray yourself over and over again?
Petrification: How are you allowing fear to freeze you and hold you in stagnation, just because its familiar?
Prophecy: What do you KNOW, that you're not listening to?
Remember with big release comes a void space of potential waiting to be refilled, be discerning! Don't be hasty. Make sure wherever possible that you only allow in things to nurture your hearts truth. Don't repeat past mistakes, the loops have been repeating over and over again so you can embrace good awareness around this....let them go.!
As hard as this last Serpent year has been for me personally I am grateful for the presence of beloved Medousa, her wisdom, guidance and protection through all the shedding and release.
Medousa has been a powerful guide, a deep font of wisdom and powerful protectress during this serpent year and for those of us devoted to her, she will continue to be present, as we shift and change and embrace the new possibilities unfolding. For me personally she remains as a life long goddess of my path, she has been with me the longest of any deity in this lifetime. However my relationship with her and her energy within me alters according to how I stand in my power and where I choose to place my energy, for she is my compass of divine feminine potency, her coiled energy seated within as well as being an external force.
The Year of the Serpent has been an incredible journey of shedding and release, of loss and grief and deep realisations. If you have embraced her looping coils and the experiences that have been available whilst within them, regardless of the deep challenges and very very raw depths of pain, If you have chosen to face your fears, chosen to stand in your truth and honour your releases then this space of transformation whilst painful has also been/is so very powerful and affirming. For within her coils is a sacred space of life altering growth, constricting and pushing us to flow with change and rebirthing us when we honour this opportunity, into new heights of self awareness.
If you have chosen not to embrace these challenges for whatever reason, then you may still feel caught in her coils, on endless cycles of constriction, envenomating yourself or allowing others to do so over and over again. Fear holds us in spaces that we have outgrown and applies pressure until we chose to make the changes that will ultimately free us, that's why it feels so hard and heavy to stay in repeated loops indefinitely. As the serpent year draws to a close this is your opportunity to say enough is enough and put yourself first, to see the applied pressure as a key rather then a restriction to resent. Use the key, open the door to freedom.
The following words have been attributed to Buddha, Mandela and Saint Augustine depending on what you read but it rings true regardless of who was the author:
'Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.'
Time for accountability, what role do you play in keeping yourself small? Without over-thinking and tying yourself up in knots....take time away from people pleasing and striving for active answers and instead tune in to your heart and your internal wisdom and really listen. Who/what deserves to share your life? If not now, then when will you finally choose yourself?
This is your reminder that every time you allow others and situations or yourself to be toxic you invite the need for toxic continuum not positive change, if you keep allowing yourself to be treated less then you deserve you are showing others that they don't need to change their behaviour. So this is a check-in, commune with your heart and your higher truth and feel into what needs to go and what is foundational that can be built upon.
The way ahead offers a change of direction for many of us, as we walk away from the same stories with the same results and welcome in real change. I have seen, witnessed and felt this theme for months and we have this powerful opportunity to reinforce this right now.
Face your Fears, Embrace your fears, Learn from them. Let them open new doors.
During this Serpent Year I facilitated a very special online dedicated Medousa Immersion, a devotional to her our Serpent Mother and also to those who attended, seeking the serpent magick within. It was a deep space of transitions and transformations and I had the pleasure off witnessing it unfolding profoundly for many of the women present. Everyone had realisations and awareness but those who were dedicated to change really started to altered their perception and their lives because of it. For some the muse of creativity was birthed bringing forth new ideas and directions, for others it opened the way to begin to heal the mother and sister wounds. Medousa has so many different aspect depending on the stories and mythos you choose to believe but at her core she is feminine empowerment. It truly was an honour to guide and support the magickal women who shared the container with me and as a long time Medousa devotee, it was so deeply gratifying to finally put together years of my practices, previous workshops and experiences into a heartfelt offering that also helped others embrace the power of serpent energies. That is why I continue to do what I do, but I feel all is changing again with the new energies that are beginning to appear and added to that for me astrologically my Progressed Moon, the end of a 27.4 year cycle will occur as I travel to Turkey and Greece in April this year.
As Serpent begins to give way, and before the intensity of Fire Horse appears, it is time to surrender to what's left to go and to deep rest and healing in readiness for a fresh start. I feel that Fire Horse will be a wild ride but in a totally different way to Serpent, fire is activating, creative, passionate and emboldening but it can also combust and disintegrate all in it's path, the energies can be volatile and fast moving. So it will be wise to check ourselves throughout the year, to pause and reset, to release attachment to definite outcomes and allow inspiration to guide us. I really think that it doesn't matter the end game as much as the journey and every step no matter how small is activating. Take time to feel, witness and celebrate all the steps and enjoy the journey whenever possible, every day we are gifted is precious and so is our time with those we love.
So release the constant hustle and enjoy the moments that really bring joy.

In the meantime if what I have said resonates with you take some time to sit with it, breath with it, meditate and journal on it and reach out to your support networks if you need it. Find time to honour your courage, your underlying needs, to nourish yourself and to make allowance for what supports you to follow your hearts truth and your own unique magick. In reality no one can do it for us, no one else can heal us, no one else holds the same wisdom that we do when within us, so treat yourself with care and compassion.
