Fire Horse leaps from the ashes of shedding serpent, like a flaming beacon of strength, radiant and rippling with power. The blazing equine energy is alive with creative passion urging us to show up to be seen as time accelerates, unfolding with opportunity. As serpent gives way to horse I turn to Hekate for guidance through the rebirthing energies, for she is threshold guardian, Illuminatirix and protectress and she is associated with both serpents and horses. My Journey with Hekate:
Hekate has long been my light in the Darkness, she first came to me nearly 20 years ago when my Father was leaving this earthly plane, appearing in my mind as a voice of illuminated strength through the deep dark sadness. Her presence a bright balm of courage that opened the way for the road ahead, ablaze with hope through sadness and uncertainty.
Horses have been part of my ancestral lineage for centauries and they are still part of my world both mundane and magickal and so is Hekate, whose flame I continue to tend both externally and internally. Horses are woven through human history for eons and have long served as a source of wild freedom and inspiration, supporting us with such strength through hunting, sport, war and transport since their domesticity around 3500BC. We owe them a great debt of gratitude for their divine presence in our lives and their ability to heal and nurture as well as to 'perform' duties. They are such noble creatures and I am passionate about working with horses and willingness not force and control.

Goddess Hekate has several horse epithets such as:
Eurippa = Horse Finder. Hipparete = Speaks to Horses. Hippoprosopos = Horse Faced

To me horses embody such power and strength, they are pure poetry in motion, watching a horse gallop towards me fills my heart with joy, inspiration and admiration. Riding and working with horses in union offers deep connection and expands my heart and soul with a sense of deep reverence. Just being around horses is holy to me. Horses are being utilised more and more in healing, they have actually been used in Animal Assisted Therapy since the 1970's but this modality is becoming increasingly popular due to their naturally perceptive and intuitive abilities to sense their environment and being able to sense human heartbeats from 4 feet away.
Natural herd animals horses, can synchronise their heartbeats in order to sense danger and recent studies have shown that this is still a skill present in domesticated horses today. And so when we chose to interact with these incredible animals they can sense our moods and adjust to them. Being relaxed, trusting and reassuring around horses supports both the horse and the human to enter a beautiful partnership of reciprocity.
And so horses are aligned to community and to union. They also represent our wild primal instincts and longing for freedom, combining sensitivity with strength they may support us to bring our shadows to light and embrace our truth with power, offering integration. This is further illuminated by the Fire energy, for fire is both destructive and creative, allowing us to burn away the old and rebirth the new.
