3 WAYS TO EMBRACE NEW BEGINNINGS

Images are the property of Sanctum of the Rose.

Whilst 2026 has arrived and it IS an opportunity to embrace a threshold of change, it is but a calendar year turning. We still have the Astrological year in play until Aries arrives. We still have the serpent year in play until mid Feb. And if you follow the Southern Wheel then we still have until Samhain to complete the cycle.

Each lunar month of Moons we have the opportunity to honour the cycles of change.

Each day we have sunrise - noon and sunset to honour the Solar energies. As well as the turning solar seasons and right now we are in the full power of Summer in the South and Winter in the North.

So use this doorway, this crossroads today however you see fit but don't let it be your everything.

I offer you the above prayer to receive whenever you see fit.

And finally heartfelt gratitude to my dear friends who chose to connect with me last night by the ocean and immersed in the bliss of conscious dance to mark this passage of time, 2025 was an incredible raw year for me, your presence and your love meant the world to me.

1.CREATE A FLAMIN HEARTH AND FILL IT WITH SYMBOLS THAT YOU WISH TO DRAW INTO YOUR HOME, YOUR HEART, YOUR LIFE.

The hearth is the heart of the home and also the internal flame that burns within, both spaces need replenishing often, just as they need strong boundaries and self-honouring. Honour your home sanctuary and the sanctuary that dwells within just like you honour your loved ones, your guides, ancestors and the deities that you walk with.

You need not have a fire place to do so, it may be a candle, or lantern or image to utilise as a symbolic flame to tend. Surround it with things that you wish to draw into your sanctuary and let the light and heat infuse all with activation.

I chose this year for my flaming Hearth, an Empress candle to represent myself (sovereignty/internal light) as it it my personal tarot card and it was gifted to me by a precious friend. The Empress also represents nurture, to me both self-nurture and my role in my community and also positive abundance and connection to Nature. I added a large candle to represent the flame of passion, creativity and strength and is is also symbolic of my home sanctuary energy and then surrounded it by candles lit by friends in last nights beautiful celebration, to represent loving community. I added money that was connected to a blissful shared gathering to draw in more of these energies and dried rose petals from gifted blooms. I chose Juniper to infuse it all with as it represents protection, purification, healing, love, fertility and hope and also forms part of one of my magickal names. There are other elements of nature included and other personal things I won't share here.

I offer this to you for inspiration, and also the Blessings below with the hope that it supports those ready to receive it. If you create this flaming hearth or your own Blessing or the other two activities I will post further down the blog here, then I would love to hear about it in the comments. Or if you share this blog please let me know your own thoughts on creating something similar that is aligned to you and your path and practices.

A Blessing from my Hearth to Yours. (Words by Sanctum of the Rose)

May each breath of Air refuel your body and infuse your soul with clarity and wisdom.

May the way ahead be aflame with self-honouring activation, passion and creativity.

May the tides of change support you to forge powerful pathways aligned to your cycles.

May you be rooted in rich soul that supports your desires and the flow of abundance.

May the shadows between all things and that dwell within aid you to embrace your hidden mysteries and honour your truth.

May you never forget that divine spirit resides within you always.

May you be surrounded by community that recognises and cherishes your worth and encourages your gifts.

2.POMEGRANATE THRESHOLD SPELL

The Pomegranate is so often linked to the underworld and Hades and Persephone and cycles of change including the seasonal shifts and so symbolises regeneration. It is also aligned to fertility and prosperity due to the number of seeds it holds within it's beautiful ruby container and to me it represents blood, life force energy. Pomegranate is a regular ally in my life both mundane and magickal.

Interesting I woke up to a video this morning as I was creating this working about a Greek tradition of smashing pomegranates at the front door at new year to bring in prosperity, here is the video if you wish to watch it: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DS2hD7ZjJph

Onto my Threshold Spell:

Hold the Pomegranate and infuse it with your intentions, honour it as a symbol of regeneration, fertile abundance and prosperity. You may also wish to work with Persephone or any other deity associated with the fruit: Demeter, Aphrodite, Hera, Athena and Hekate to support your spell depending on when you wish to create it and with whom you feel called to work.

Cut open your Pomegranate

If you don't know how to cut a pomegranate here you go, then here you go: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5zWRopn6lrw

Write what it is that you wish to draw into your home/your life. I chose to write some of mine on dockets from places that represent my intentions.

Place on a plate at your doorway or other threshold and surround with coins or whatever form of prosperity that you wish to bring into your home.

Pour honey over the fruit to sweeten the process. As I don't believe in lazy witchcraft, I will leave you to write your own chant/prayer/crafting words that are relevant to you and then if you follow along with my workings you also have an active part in the process and are encouraged to scribe for yourself.

Offerings to the Land and the Land Spirits
Offerings to the Land and the Land Spirits

3.LIBATIONS FOR THE LAND

Working with the land, the land spirits, the elementals and devas are an important part of my path and practices, I am a firm advocate for working with Nature and the seasons, phases and cycles and one way that I like to give back is to pour libations that are meaningful and that honour these important energies in my environment. It also goes along way to developing a nourishing symbiotic relationship with the land and the powers that infuse nature that encourages them to be accepting and supportive of my magick for it nurtures them too, reciprocity. I see to many people walking on Nature, asking things from her, grounding into her energies and releasing into her body without actually giving back, honouring and sustaining her and the spirits, elementals and devas in turn. And gardens always flourish with plant, insect, animal and bird life when they are respected and tended.

I pour libations at many different points of the year and for many different devotional practices, today I chose to offer my thanks for another calendar year of natures wonder, inspiration and abundance and to petitioned for support to protect my home and myself and my son from any summer storms or other potential harm. I pour to offer the land healing and nourishment and gratitude for the beauty that surrounds me

The mix I chose today:

Fresh Water

Peppermint - healing, purification, prosperity and abundance. It is supports intuitive connection and so fostering an energetic awareness with nature.

Strawberry - love, desire, success, friendship. It supports a loving relationship with the land.

Raspberry - beauty, strength, healing and protection. It honours the beauty that surrounds us and the promise to protect that earth and to seek her protection in turn.

Rose powder - love, beauty, healing, protection, transitions and hidden mysteries. It honours the cycles of transition, the mystery hidden within waiting to unfold and celebrates beauty in all forms and stages.

What would you choose and why, I would love to hear about it?

And so there you have it 3 simple ways to honour newness whenever you deem them to be fitting to you and your own relationship with cycles. Please tailour to your own needs and if you share please credit Sanctum of the Rose. If you enjoyed this, then there is another post on newness and lots more to explore further on the Blog. If you read this or any of the other content I would genuinely appreciate a like, comment and share.

May doors open before you.

Love and Blessings,

Jenni-Rose
