Rose & Flower of Life Spell

Magick to support your transition into the new calendar year utilising Roses and the Flower of Life Symbol. Set your intention to draw in and expand what you wish to receive.

As I mentioned in a previous blog post, the Flower of Life, like the Rose to me embodies the cycles of creation (and thus expansion), the oldest known depiction of this sacred symbol is carved into the stone in the Osirion at Abydos Temple. And roses were also sacred to the Ancient Egyptians symbolising beauty, love, passion and healing power and also used in aromatherapy, mummification and burials as well as often depicted on temple and tomb walls.

I have created a spell using both of these potent symbols. (please only share with clear written credits to Juniper Rose - Sanctum of the Rose)

You will need:

Flower of life symbol printed or drawn (A4 size recommended)

Red Rose Petals

Rose Oil (or floral essential oil of your choice)

7 tealight candles (or mini tapers with holders)

Rose Quartz chips (optional)

Rose Water for Libations (optional see end note)

I recommend you read the whole spell before you undertake it.

Steps:

Print or draw The Flower of Life - use this process as a meditation to prepare.

Surround the outside of the the Circle with Rose petals, visualising, love, protection and healing. Add rose quartz to further amplify if you wish or substitute for Clear Quartz to amplify.

Anoint your candles with the Rose Oil and place at the 6 outside points of the Symbol that touch the circle. Save the last candle to place in the center to represent yourself.

Light 4 candles calling in the Elements to enhance the spell with their power:

(Note the order you place the elements candles in is up to you, your path and tradition. You may choose to place the Spirit and Void candles above and below the others or wherever you feel is appropriate.)

1)Air for Wisdom - Knowledge & Lightness of Being.

2)Fire for Activation - Courage & Determination.

3)Water for Intuition - Ancestral support & Flow.

4)Earth for Anchorage - Healing & Abundance.

Take a moment to feel each element surrounding you and your spell and feeling the potency of the collective energy infusing your workings.

Now light the 5th Candle - symbolic of:

5)Spirit or The Rose goddesses, Guides or whoever you work with:

Light the 6th Candle and welcome in the space of germination, thinking about your intention:

6)Void - The in-between spaces of unlimited Potential. Take a moment to see the illumination of the light in the darkness. Feel into the infinite possibilities.

Take the 7th candle - hold it, see it as yourself (you can choose to use it to represent a loved if you prefer) think about what it is that you long for. Light the candle and place it in the center of the symbol - take care not to burn yourself. See the flame radiating from the inside of the circle surrounded by the circle of candles, feel the power of the radiance expanding, joining the power and potency of the Rose energy. Focus on visualising what it is that you are wishing for and see how you and your life will look when it comes into being.

See it - Feel it - Believe it - Know it to be true.

Spend some time in meditation and communion with the energies and the Rose goddesses or whoever you are working with. Feel into the creative space of your womb and heart to conjure it all into being.

You may leave candles to burn out, ensure they are in a safe space and not left unattended. If this is a spell that you wish to work over time, you may burn the candles for a bit each day, or replace them until the spell is done. Tip - light the new candles from the old to continue the energy and you may wish to anoint them also.

When the spell is complete, discard candle remnants sensibly and tear paper up and burn it. You may wish to dry the rose petals and use them for incense or offer them up the the Earth or Water.

Note: if you are working with deity for this you may wish to pour rose water libations in offering and gratitude throughout the process or at the beginning and end.
